ERNTE ROUTE
CONTEXT
Regional food is often available, but rarely visible. Small farm shops, self-service stands, and local producers frequently rely on word of mouth, handwritten signs, or chance encounters to get customers. in turn, Consumers who want to shop locally often face fragmented information about the Regional farms as well as uncertainty regarding their availability.
This project explores how digital tools can strengthen regional food ecosystems without replacing their local character. thus, it was developed as a two-sided platform for both consumers and producers, focusing on transparency, accessibility, and trust. Interviews revealed that the problem was not a lack of interest in regional products, but a lack of reliable information and simple ways to connect supply with demand.
WHAT HAS BEEN DONE
Designed a high-fidelity mobile platform that connects local producers with consumers through discovery, reservation, and communication workflows. Reframed the problem from “selling products” to “making regional supply visible”, prioritizing information that users consistently lacked: availability, opening hours, location, and direct contact.
Built separate experiences for buyers and sellers while maintaining a shared design language. Introduced a map-first discovery flow, reservation-based purchasing, real-time product availability, direct messaging, and a follow system that allows users to stay connected with farms and receive updates when new products become available.
